One of the first projects under my newly formed, independent, creative LLC, this was a collaboration with Czarnowski USA for Porsche North America, building an Instagram AR experience around the 2021 Taycan 4S Cross Turismo Art Car designed by Sean Wotherspoon.
Debuted at Monterey Car Week 2022, the filter let visitors drop a full-scale digital version of Wotherspoon's iconic color-blocked Taycan into their environment, scalable, explorable, and available in multiple livery variants, all from their phone.
The defining challenge was technical: Instagram Spark AR effects have a hard 4MB ceiling. Everything, geometry, textures, logic, had to live inside that limit without the car looking like a compromise. I handled all 3D prep in Autodesk 3DS Max, pushing decimation as far as possible while keeping the Taycan's surfacing honest. Texture work was done in Adobe Substance, using a color swatch system to drive the panel variants cleanly. The final effect was tight, accurate, and well-received by the client.
